Hi all,
I guess many of you gear up for the first morning session of the standards
workshop. I've made use of the European time advantage and went over the data
exchange standard wiki page, restructuring and adding things here and there:
http://openwetware.org/wiki/The_BioBricks_Foundation:Standards/Technical/Exchange
I hope that this is now a good base for the discussion in S.F. I tried to rescue
some ideas from the intense mailing list discussion some days ago.
There is now a tentative definition of 'Device' and 'Biobrick / Device family'
to the first section (What is a Biobrick) and a complementary description to the
Data model section.
BTW, I agree with Julius' comment that we should try to illustrate discussions
on a concrete Biobrick model system. Though I don't think we need experiments
for that. The registry has already many excellent examples to offer.
Also, if anyone is interested in trying out the RDF / REST data exchange
strategy outlined here:
http://openwetware.org/wiki/The_BioBricks_Foundation:Standards/Technical/Exchange#any_backend.2C_RDF_REST
This would be a fun little exercise with BrickIt. So if anyone wants to join in,
drop me an e-mail!
Enjoy the workshop!
Raik
