Hi,
How do I get a RFC (request for comment) number for a new standard? I have
a way to measure promoter-RBS combinations that would complement Jason
Kelly's, but would allow for better measurement of weak promoters.
E.gI20259 doesn't show up on Jason's FACS assay, (
http://openwetware.org/wiki/The_BioBricks_Foundation:Standards/Technical/Measurement)
but Jason has said he saw fluorescence under the scope.
The proposed assay uses the dual luciferase system (suggested to me by Tom
Knight) which has no background, unlike GFP and should be more accurate for
weaker promoters.
Cheers,
John
